Marseille 2013

Marseille in France will be hosting the European Capital of Culture title in 2013. Julie Chenot from the programming team at Marseille 2013 is part of the core group of our ECoC network that is developping an international research model.

DID YOU KNOW? Each year there will be two cities hosting the title. In 2013, Kosice in Slovakia will be celebrating its title.

Turku 2011

Exciting times are ahead for Turku (Finland) who will be hosting the European Capital of Culture in 2011 under the slogan ‘Turku on Fire’

New European Capitals of Culture announced for 2014 who will be hosted by Sweden and Latvia. In September 2009, the European Commission has announced the cities who will be holding the title.  The winning cities are:

Umea in Sweden and Riga in Latvia
